Review Essays

Review essays may seem like they should fall under any of the other three categories, but we have determined that it deserves a category of their own. If you think a movie, a book, a restaurant, a product, a person's performance or anything else is good or bad, then by all means write about it and post your essay here. Review essays are largely descriptive and focused on a single thing (not an event) that begs some form of recognition of its quality (or lack thereof). Outright bashing is not allowed; negative comments about your subject must be tactfully and creatively phrased when being expressed.

Again, you are allowed to supplement your essay with images that are pertinent to the piece, but you are only limited to three photographs and we honestly do prefer links (to pages that mention your subject). You still have free reign of the tone of your review essay, provided that you moderate it enough to not be inflammatory - it often helps to put in a disclaimer that it is your own opinion and experience, or to put in a claim of credentials that would qualify your arguments for or against that particular movie, book, product, album or other things that you would like to review.

You can review anything in this section - even a kiss, so long as it is written in a clever, creative manner.
